G A L L E R Y 106 is delighted to announce the exhibition of Putney School of Art and Design Diploma Students titled “CLOSE UP: Far Away”. Participating artists are Aty Hadidi, Barbara Murray, Carolina Cortes Orjuela, Jane Little, Lynne Heap, Sue Gunn.
View the moon through silvery prints or look at a mirrored reflection of a garden; experience migrants’ stories and tales of endurance; wonder at explorations of texture and material. See all these at the Gallery 106 in Fulham as Putney School of Art and Design graduating students display their final art works with a free exhibition titled CLOSE UP: and Far Away.
The show is the culmination of a two-year course, which includes an in-depth examination of art history and movements as well as a diverse range of practical skills such as etching, digital photography, life drawing, 3D construction and collage.
“We have come to expect the unexpected of students on this course, but the latest mix of techniques and materials proved even more wide-ranging than usual”, says tutor Jan Malaszek. “From backgrounds as varied as librarianship, opera singing and fashion, and drawn from the challenges of exile, parenthood and survival, they have produced a fascinating range of work that will reward close examination and provoke discussion”.
Works are for sale and include paintings, collages, sculpture, prints and mixed media pieces.
When: Thursday 30 June – Wednesday 6 July 2016
Opening times: Mon - Fri 12 - 6pm | Sat - Sun 1 – 5pm
