Wisteria pruning workshop

  • Fulham Palace Bishop's Ave London, SW6 5EA United Kingdom (map)

Having previously managed the great wisteria specimens at Royal Botanical Gardens, Kew, and now looking after the beautiful specimens at Fulham Palace, Lucy can share her wisteria knowledge and experience with you.  Perhaps you would like help to get your wisteria under control or you just always wondered the right way to prune one?   Not only will you gain practical hands on experience pruning the iconic arc shaped wisteria in the Walled Garden, Lucy will show you how to train and tie in shoots and will talk about all year round care.

There are two large Wisteria sinensis Chinese wisteria specimens at Fulham Palace – one growing against the south face of the Palace the other trained in a grand 40metre long arc surrounding the knot garden in the Walled Garden.  This iconic specimen is thought to date back to at least the 19th Century.
