Young Archaeologists' Club

  • Fulham Palace Bishops Avenue, Fulham London SW6 6EA United Kingdom (map)

Do you want to learn about archaeology, but you don't know where to start? Are you between 8 and 16 years of age? Then the Fulham Palace Young Archaeologists' Club is the place for you! Our first session will answer the question - What is an Archaeologist?

Meeting monthly on Saturday mornings, the club will explore the fascinating world of archaeology through practical hands on sessions with real archaeologists. You’ll dig, sieve, measure and record your finds  learning about ancient civilisations such as the Romans, Vikings and Stone Age. There will be a huge range of sessions on offer, everything from dendrochronology to investigating historic buildings, making traditional crafts to exploring the local Thames foreshore.  For 8-16 year olds, children attend independently.

The six sessions taking place are:

21st Feb: What is an Archaeologist?

21st March: Where are we? Archaeology at Fulham Palace

18th April: Trip to the Thames: Exploring the local foreshore

23rd May:  Finds from the Foreshore
